Experience: Dr. Richard F. Lynch is the founder
and President of Lynch & Associates, Inc. His PhD dissertation focused on the
processing, structure and properties of low carbon steel while his Master’s
thesis involved research on wrought aluminum alloys. He has over 30 years of
industrial experience, including 11 years with a major metals producing and
processing company. Immediately prior to forming Lynch & Associates in 1988, he
was with Zinc Institute which culminated in his appointment as Executive
Director. At Zinc Institute he was heavily involved in zinc-coated steel
technical assistance and market development. Current consulting activity spans
the areas cited above.
Client Base: Includes attorneys and companies
requiring failure analysis, metallurgical testing, or assistance with end
product manufacture, metallurgical processing, casting, galvanizing, zinc
production, surface treatments, metallurgical process licensing, international
metals research, market research.
Professional Societies:
Dr. Lynch is active in ASTM Committee A05 on Metallic Coated Iron and Steel
Products where he has served as User Vice Chairmen and as Chairman of Committee
B02 on Nonferrous Metals and Alloys. He is an ASTM fellow. He is active at the
local chapter and national levels with ASM International, the Materials
Society. He has authored and presented numerous technical papers on the
properties and uses of zinc-coated steel, nonferrous castings, powder
metallurgy, other materials,
and ASTM standards. He is a US patent holder. He received the ASTM Award of
Merit.
