I have heard a number of cases involving individuals of NYSE member firms to determine what, if any, suspensions or disbarments from the securities industry should be imposed. Testimony from both plaintiffs and defendants was heard by a three-person panel headed by a lawyer from the NYSE and two persons from member firms. Basic rules of evidence were followed, as was basic courtroom procedure, with some latitude allowed in both.
